About myself

Hello! I’m The Tropic Pianist Gamer, and I’m passionate about sharing my love of music with students of all ages, from 6+. With training in Classical, Art Music, Pop, and Rock, I adapt my teaching style to suit each individual's needs. I create a warm and inviting atmosphere, where everyone can flourish. For young children, lessons involve a delightful mix of method books, theory, and games, while for teenagers, I enjoy sourcing arrangements of their favourite songs. I understand life’s demands, so I offer flexible scheduling for adults. With older students, I prioritise their preferences, allowing them to lead our sessions. My aim is that every student experiences personal growth, whether mastering a piece, understanding music theory, or simply enjoying the process. Let’s make music together!

How I teach

Age 3 - 9

Young children

I tend to do a mix of learning through method books, theory and games. Up to age 7 children generally have 20 minute lessons, and over 7s have 30 minute lessons. I'm neurodivergent and ADHD friendly too.

Age 10 - 17

Teenagers

If a teen has a favourite song they'd like to learn, I like the challenge of being able to source an arrangement that works for their level. We do a bit of the usual lesson layout, and if there's 5-10 mins at the end, we look at the "favourite" piece.

Age 18 - 64

Adults

If you work shifts, not a problem, I can fit my schedule around you! I also understand that life gets in the way, so if you need to take a break no problem either. If you're a returning player, we can pick up where you left, after a bit of revision.

Older adults

Seniors

My older students appreciate piano lessons as their self care time, which is so important. I let the older students lead the lesson, so whatever they want to learn is good with me!
